Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 28, 2026
InsiderMatch is currently in early access. This privacy policy may be updated as the platform evolves.
1. Introduction
Frey Labs, LLC (the "Company"), operating under the brand InsiderMatch, is committed to maintaining robust privacy protections for its users. This Privacy Policy is designed to help you understand how we collect, use, and safeguard the information you provide to us, and to assist you in making informed decisions when using our Service.
For purposes of this Agreement:
- "Site"refers to the Company's websites, accessible at insidermatch.co and app.insidermatch.co.
- "Service" refers to the InsiderMatch marketplace, on which Founders book paid consultation calls with domain-experienced Insiders, and Insiders sell their time and feedback.
- "we," "us," and "our" refer to the Company.
- "You" refers to any user of the Site or Service, whether as a Founder, Insider, or visitor.
By accessing the Site or Service you accept this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service, and you consent to our collection, storage, use, and disclosure of your Personal Information as described here.
2. Information We Collect
We collect both Non-Personal Information (aggregate or anonymous data, browser type, referring URLs, click counts) and Personal Information (your name, email, professional profile, and information you submit during onboarding).
2.1 Information collected via technology
To use the Service you authenticate with an email address. We track browser-provided information — referring URL, browser type, device, and timestamp — using cookies (small text files stored by your browser) to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure how the Service is used. We use both persistent and session cookies.
2.2 Information you provide by registering
To create an account, we collect your email address and name. As a Founder you submit information about your company, your idea, and the buyer personas you want to validate. As an Insider you submit your professional background, areas of expertise, hourly rate, and a CV or LinkedIn URL — we use this to vet your profile, surface you to relevant founders, and keep our Insider directory accurate.
We also collect billing information through our payment processor, Stripe. Insiders connect a Stripe Express account to receive payouts; we do not see or store full bank account numbers.
2.3 Marketplace transaction data
When a Founder pays for a call, we record the amount, the matched Insider, scheduled date, and call status. When an Insider receives a payout, we record the transfer ID and amount. This information is shown to the relevant counterparty (the Founder sees their own receipts; the Insider sees their payouts) and to our administrators for support and compliance purposes.
2.4 Reviews and feedback
After a call, both parties may rate the call and leave private notes for our team. These ratings inform future matching. The peer rating you give is shown to administrators only — never directly to the rated party.
2.5 Children's privacy
The Site and Service are not directed to anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have done so, contact privacy@insidermatch.co and we will delete it.
3. How We Use and Share Information
Personal Information
Except as stated in this Privacy Policy, we do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise share your Personal Information with third parties for their marketing purposes. We share Personal Information with vendors who perform services on our behalf — payment processors (Stripe), email providers (Resend), authentication providers (Clerk), analytics, and support tools — under contracts that limit their use to providing those services to us.
We share information with Founders and Insiders to facilitate matches: when an admin matches you, the counterparty sees your name, your relevant profile fields, and (after payment) calendar / contact information for scheduling.
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with legal process; to enforce our Terms of Service; to address fraud, security, or technical issues; or to protect our users from harm.
Non-Personal Information
We use Non-Personal Information to improve the Service and understand usage trends. We may aggregate or anonymize this data and share it with partners or advertisers without restriction.
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be among the assets transferred. We will continue to protect it under this Privacy Policy or notify you of any change.
4. How We Protect Information
We implement security measures designed to protect your information:
- All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest
- Access to production systems is strictly controlled and audited
- Card data is handled exclusively by Stripe; we do not store payment instruments
- Authentication is brokered through Clerk and protected by industry- standard session controls
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. By using the Service, you acknowledge that residual risk exists.
5. Your Rights
You can opt out of marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe link in our emails or via your account settings. We may still send transactional and administrative emails (match notifications, payment receipts, policy updates).
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may also have the right to:
- Access and receive a copy of your personal data
- Correct inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Data portability
- Withdraw consent where applicable
To exercise these rights, email privacy@insidermatch.co.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. After you close your account, we may retain certain records (transaction history, dispute records, support tickets) as required by tax, accounting, or anti-fraud laws.
7. Links to Other Websites
The Service contains links to third-party websites — most notably the cal.com or Calendly link an Insider provides for scheduling, and the Stripe Express dashboard for payouts. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Review their policies before proceeding.
8. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. We rely on contractual safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) where required.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated by email or by a prominent notice in the Service at least 30 days before they take effect. Non-material changes take effect immediately on posting.
10. Contact Us
